More On Sickle Cell

About Us

Broken Silence is made up of 4 young individuals who all suffer from Sickle Cell anemia. Cherelle, Nordia, Marsha and Edward who were all between the ages of 17-19 when they first started campaigning.

These talented individuals came together in 2005 as a group to break the silence on Sickle Cell and the suffering of millions of children and individuals worldwide they want their community and neighboring boroughs to understand what it means and feels to be a sufferer.

In 2006 Broken Silence hosted their debut talent contest which was very successful as over 500 people attended the show.

The show helped to bring together the neighboring community, schools and colleges and exposed raw talent within our community, and gave artists the opportunity to be seen and heard also to help them to gain respect and confidence they rightfully deserve.

We want to continue to educate people that being a sufferer should not stop you from having ambition and reaching your goals in life.

Each year we come together to raise more awareness on sickle cell, and to raise more money for sickle cell.

Please continue to donate and support sickle cell by attending their shows, all donations can be given to the Sickle Cell Support Group or via our website links.
